DISMISSAL
General information:
● NCE dismissal time is 3:20 p.m.
● It is very important for students to be aware of the way they go home each day. If you know there will be a change in transportation for your child, please communicate the change in writing to the teacher (via note in folder/backpack). If you need to make a change after the school day has started (after 8:10 a.m.), please email nceknights@katyisd.org (Do not email the teacher since they may not be able to check email between 7:45-3:45, or the teacher may be absent)
Car riders:
● The car rider line weaves through the back parking lot (off Withington) and extends along Withington toward Dominion; cars may enter the line at the 4-way stop at the corner of Dominion & Withington (by Taylor HS parking garage)
● Please note: Cars may NOT enter the car rider line by turning left into the NCE parking lot from Withington (coming from Rennie). ● Please display the transportation tag (hang on rearview mirror) when approaching staff on car rider duty. This is how we communicate and students should be prepared to dismiss to their vehicles.
● Students will need to open and close their own car doors when loading near the back porch (Safety Patrol/ Staff will assist if needed)
● Please do not stop for long periods of time when students are being loaded into the car (for example: If a student needs help with a car seat, please pull out of the car rider line to assist them with this)
Walkers/Bike riders:
● Walkers & Bike Riders (including families that park at Kingsland Baptist and walk across the street) will exit from the 3 doors along Rennie. The doors are labeled with grade levels so you will be aware of where to expect your child to exit between 3:25-3:30 p.m. (staggered dismissal for safety). Pre-K walkers will dismiss between 3:10-3:15 p.m Door 1 (door closest to Rennie/Kingsland intersection) 4th: All Classes, 2nd: All Classes & PreK: All Classes Door 2 (middle door near bike racks) 3rd: All Classes & Kindergarten: All Classes Door 3 (door closest to back drive/portable building) 5th: All Classes & 1st: All Classes

Daycare:
● If your child goes to a daycare, please make sure you have communicated the name of the daycare with your child’s teacher so we can ensure they are on the correct van.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. What if I lose my car rider number tag? A. If you do not have your car tag for car rider dismissal, you must park in visitor parking (or across the street at the church) and sign out your student from the front office. You must have a government issued ID to do this (pictures of ID’s will not be accepted).. When you sign out your student, you can ask the front office team for a car rider number. Once you have this number tag you can pick up your student in the car rider line any time thereafter.
Q2. What if I am not the only adult to pick up my student? A. We are providing you with multiple car rider number tags so that you can provide them to any adult you deem appropriate to pick up your student. By sending a copy of your car rider number tag with the adult you want to pick up your student we will know you approve of that adult picking up your student. **THIS DOES NOT APPLY FOR CHECKING OUT STUDENTS DURING THE DAY**
Q3. What if I need to pick my student up early? A. If you need to pick your student up before dismissal you must go to the front office and sign out your student. You must park in the visitor parking (or across the street at the church). Please note: If a child has an afternoon appointment, it is best to pick them up before 2:45 (to avoid getting delayed due to dismissal procedures).
Q4. What if my student is only a car rider occasionally? A. Every student will receive a number tag regardless of their normal transportation. If there is a change in transportation to car rider, you will need to submit the change in writing and have your number tag in your car when you go through the car rider line. If you have misplaced your number tag, you will need to park in visitor parking (or across the street at the church) and come to the front office to sign out your child.
Q5. What if my student is part of a daily carpool? A. If your student is part of a daily car pool, you will need to let the front office know in writing. You will still receive an individual number tag in the event that your student does not ride in the carpool on any day.
